容膝空间的考虑。如图5-12所示明式座椅中的“S”形靠背板，与人体脊柱的曲线极为契合，从而使得人在就座时能够保持脊柱的自然舒展，通过测量可知，明式座椅靠背板“S”形曲线主要介于直背板和圆弧背板之间，其曲率转折主要分为两个区域，第一个区域集中在距椅面15～20 cm的高度内，这正是人就座时腰椎的转折部位；同样第二个区域分布在35～40 cm高度区域，恰好在胸椎的曲度转折部位，因此可见明式座椅的靠背设计与现代人体工程学的要求是相符的。此外，明式座椅的靠背都略微向后倾斜5°～10°，上沿控制在肩胛骨上下，比较适合人的背部倚靠；圈椅的椅圈和部分扶手椅的扶手与水平面呈20°～30°，扶手前端距座面高度为22～28 cm，恰好使人的手臂自然倾斜搭靠，而且许多椅子的搭脑的斜度和造型非常适合颈椎和后脑的角度，适于休息。这些都反映出传统家具对于人体结构和姿势的考虑和分析。
